This auction is for a letter from Texas maternal filicide killer Darlie Lynn Peck Routier. On 6/6/1996, Darlie Routier murdered her five and six-year-old sons. Both boys were stabbed to death with a large kitchen knife. She claimed an intruder broke into her home and committed the crimes. On 2/4/1997 a jury found Routier guilty. She was sentenced to death. To this day Darlie Routier maintains her innocence.

ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive is one page and signed, "Darlie." In the bottom left corner of the stationery she has written both her name, "D. Routier," along with her prison number. The original mailing envelope is postmarked 12/23/2010. The letter and envelope come inside a protective magazine sleeve with an acid free board and have been stored flat.
