This is a great letter where Ian answers back a reporter and annexes NBC News and Europa - press as well.

He talks about the BBC TV program Esther Rantzen and weather or not the British are becoming obsessed with crime. He calls it an English disease.

He speaks how in 30 years of incarceration that he never applied for parole and that he never will. He will die in captivity!

He talks about the corrupted system…how the Home Secretary has broken more laws then most of his prisoners.

Lots of politics and great information to think about in this letter. He continue and speaks about how he prefers honest gangsters dishonest.

He also mentions how the media should make statistics on how many suicides and deaths related to there articles and how many families they’ve destroyed just for a story.

He reverse the question to the media and tells them that they should ask if the British media is more obsessed with crime and not if the British people are more obsessed …..

It will always be. Crime has always increased circulations and profits for newspaper and television companies. If crime didn’t exist , politicians and media would invent it, and indeed do.

Crime is the most popular and profitable entertainment there is in this country. It vicariously titillâtes the public and provides politicians with a vote.

The public love to think of committing crimes, then compensate for their guilt by vigorously condemning criminals. 

Criminals don’t become celebrities , the media makes them celebrities…
