Description

This auction is for a letter from deceased Ohio "Cleveland Strangler" Anthony Edward Sowell (8/19/1959 – 2/8/2021). Between 2007 and 2009, Anthony Sowell committed a series of rapes and murders that would leave 11 women dead. He would be arrested on Halloween, 2009. On 7/22/2011, Anthony Sowell would be convicted on multiple counts of murder, rape, kidnapping, and mutilation of a corpse. He was formally sentenced to death on 8/12/2011. Anthony Sowell died of natural causes on 2/8/2011. He was 61.

ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive is three pages on three sheets and signed, "Tony." In the letter Sowell goes into his disappointed with a collector who has got him in the cross with the warden. The original mailing envelope is postmarked 1/28/2013. There is a tear in the top right corner from when the original recipient opened it. You'd think collectors would know how to properly open letters? The letter and envelope come inside a protective magazine sleeve with an acid free board and have been stored flat.
