This auction is for a letter from the Missouri "South Side Rapist" Dennis Rabbitt. It's speculated that Dennis Rabbitt began raping women in the early 1970s, while he was a teenager. His crimes were concentrated in Missouri, but spanned out to Illinois and New Mexico. His victims ranged in ages from 14 to 82. Arrested on 2/28/1999, Dennis Rabbitt confessed to over 100 rapes to police. He would go on to explain that a medieval demon would possess him from time to time. Dennis Rabbitt would plead guilty to multiple counts in Missouri and Illinois. He received multiple life sentences. In 2005, Dennis Rabbitt was stabbed by three fellow inmates. He survived the attack.

ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive is eight pages on four sheets, dated 10/19/2003, and is signed, "Dennis Rabbitt." Lots of discussion about his case, methodology with victim selection, and demons. The original mailing envelope is postmarked 10/21/2003. The letter and envelope come inside a protective magazine sleeve with an acid free board and have been stored flat.
