This auction is for a painting by condemned California murderer Richard Christopher Tully. On 7/24/1986, Richard Tully broke into the home of a 59-year-old woman and attempted to rape her before stabbing her multiple times to death. He proceeded to burglarize her home. Her body was found the following day naked and stabbed 23 times. Richard Tully would be arrested in March of 1987 for driving on a suspended license and possession of methamphetamine. He would be linked to the murder through fingerprints. During his trial Richard Tully tried to blame the murder on another man, who didn't exist. The jury didn't buy that story and convicted him of murder with special circumstances. He was sentenced to death on 12/4/1992.

ITEM DESCRIPTION: The painting is 16"×20", titled Set Thine House In Order, and signed in the bottom right corner, "R. Tully." I know the photograph of the signature on the front of the piece is a wee fuzzy. I just don't feel like retaking it. On the reverse the piece is dated 8/11/1999 and signed, "Richard Tully."
