This auction is for a letter from California's executed "Freeway Killer" Mr. William George Bonin (1/8/1947 – 2/23/1996). From 1979 to 1980 Bonin, with accomplices Mr. Gregory Miley, Mr. James Munro, Mr. Vernon Butts, and Mr. William Pugh, abducted, raped, and murder 21 young men and boys. 12 of those murders were with the assistance of his accomplices. Bonin was a convicted sexual predator and eventually found himself on police radar, who arrested him in the act of raping a 17-year-old victim in his van on 6/11/1980. Butts killed himself awaiting trail. Miley received a 25 year to life sentence and was murdered in prison in May 2016. Munro received a 15 year to life sentence and is still serving out his sentence. Pugh served five years in state prison and was paroled. Bonin was executed 2/23/1996. He was 49.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive is two pages on one sheet, dated 5/26/1993, and signed, "Your friend, Bill." The original mailing envelope is postmarked 5/27/1993. There is a healthy handwritten postscript with a second signature on the second page.
