Description

This auction is for a painting by condemned California murderer Ronald Lee Sanders. On 1/23/1980, Sanders, with accomplice John Cebreros Jr., bludgeoned a couple a couple during a drug robbery in Bakersfield, California, netting about two grams of cocaine and $18. One of the two victims, a woman, died as a result. The pair would arrested. Their first trial ended in a hung jury, but the second go-around secured convictions. Cebreros was sentenced to life without parole and Sanders received the death penalty. Sanders remains on death row, his case still on appeal.

ITEM DESCRIPTION: The painting is 11"×15", dated 1/27/2007, titled A Fall Afternoon, and signed "Ronnie Sanders." The artwork was wrapped in cellophane to a piece of cardboard with details related to the painting written by Sanders, including his name, prison number, and housing assignment.
