This auction is for letter from former Texas death row inmate and murderer Marlin Enos Nelson. In 1987, Nelson lured a gay man to his home under a guise of having sex. Once inside he beat the victim with a metal bar before stabbing him to death. Nelson is believed to have killed at least one other gay man and attempting to kill another. He tried to justify his actions on the account he was molested at 11-years-old. A Harris County jury wasn't having it. He was convicted on multiple charges, including robbery, and sentenced to death in 1988. His conviction was overturned in 2013. Nelson received a life sentence in 2019.
