This auction is for a letter from executed Texas murderer Lee Andrew Taylor (1/08/1979 – 6/16/2011). While serving a life sentence for a 1996 aggravated robbery which resulted in one fatality Taylor stabbed another offender to death. The murder, which took place on 4/1/1999, was said to be racially motivated. The victim being African American and Taylor being a member a white supremacist prison gang supported that claim. It also appeared Taylor was the aggressor, stabbing his victim multiple times. Taylor claimed the murder was in self-defense. But a jury wasn't convinced and he was sentenced to death. His execution was carried out on 6/16/2011. Taylor’s final words before the lethal drugs began to take his life were, “I hope you don’t find satisfaction in this, watching a human being die.” He was 32.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive is one page, dated 12/2/2006, and is signed, "Lee Taylor." The photograph measures roughly 3.5"×6" and signed, "Lee Taylor."
