This auction is for a letter from deceased Texas serial killer Henry Lee Lucas, (8/23/1936 – 3/12/2001). Lucas did enjoy a tall tale or two. And while he did partner up for a while with now deceased Ottis Toole, claiming to be part of the Hand of Death cult, law enforcement will never know exactly how many victims the pair leave in their wake. Lucas confessed from hundreds to thousands of murders. He would be convicted of 11 and sentenced to death. He sentenced would be commuted to life imprisonment by then Texas Governor George W. Bush. It was the only death sentence the to-be United States President would commute. There has been a lot of speculation over the case, even the 11 murder convictions would be debated. At the end of the day it's become pretty accepted Lucas killed at least three people, including his mother. Lucas was 64.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive is one page on legal size statioery, dated 12/18/1991, and signed, "Henry." The letter's original recipient was Lucas's "girlfriend" Ms. Phyllis Wilcox. The original mailing envelope is postmarked 12/19/1991. There is a red T.D.C.J. stamp on the reverse. The letter and envelope come inside a protective magazine sleeve with an acid free board and have been stored flat. Message me with any questions you might have. Thanks for having a look-see.
