Description

This auction is for a letter from deceased California child serial killer Fernando Eros Caro (12/3/1949 – 1/28/2017). From 1979 to 1980, Caro committed a series of brutal sexual assaults on young children throughout California. He was convicted multiple murders in multiple counties, ultimately being sentenced to death for one case. Caro is known to have at least five victims, but is suspected by law enforcement in several other cold cases. After arriving on death row, Caro became quite the painter. His paintings were so good he was asked to paint murals in both visitation rooms, murals that are still there to this day. Caro died rather suddenly on 1/28/2017. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation ruled the death of "natural causes," but those closest to Caro knew he was suicidal and constantly contemplated taking his own life. He death seemed suspect to many. He was 67.

ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive is two pages on two sheets, dated 10/30/2009, and signed, "Fernando," with a smiley face. The original mailing envelope is not postmarked.
