Description

This auction is for a letter from executed Texas serial killer Elroy Chester (6/14/1969 – 6/12/2013). Between 1997 and 1998, Chester committed five murders, several rapes, and had three attempted murders. Chester was arrested on 2/8/1998. While in police custody he explained his motives were racially motivated. Chester had developed a hatred for white people, due to mistreatment he suffered while incarcerated in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Chester was African American. He would be convicted of one murder and sentenced to death. Chester was executed on 6/12/2013. He was 43.

ITEM DESCRIPTION: The missive is one page, dated 7/3/2008, and signed, "Elroy." The envelope is postmarked 7/8/2008.
