El Duce signed welfare paperwork DECEASED

This auction is for a General Relief Request For Housing Information, signed by Eldon Wayne Hoke, better known as El Duce, of the shock rock band Mentors (3/23/1958 - 4/19/1997). In 1976. El Duce, along with band mates Steven Broy (Dr. Heathen Scum) and Eric Carlson (Sickie Wifebeater), formed a punk rock band called the Mentors. The group worn black executioner hoods and had lyrical content, which was sexually explicit, setting the stage for the shock rock bands to follow. They group called their music Rape Rock, because, "It's a man's rock!" After the death of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, El Duce began making the clain that Cobain's wife, Courtney Love, offer him $50,000 to murder her husband, even passing a lie detector test in 1996. On 4/11/1997, during an interview with Nick Broomfield for the Kurt & Courtney documentary film, El Duce went a step further, saying his friend "Allen" took the contract. On 4/19/1997, El Duce was dropped off at a corner grocery store by friend Allen Wrench. He was struck and killed by a train on the walk home. Some speculate Allen Wrench took a second contract to silence El Duce. It's also believed that El Duce took his own life. Still others think it was due to El Duce's state of intoxication that evening. Eldon Hoke was 39.
