This auction is for a drawing by Arkansas child killer Mr. Damien Echols. Echols, with accomplices Mr. Jessie Misskelley and Mr. Jason Baldwin, were convicted of the 5/5/1993 murder of three young boys. Unfortunately for all involved the case was poorly handled, casting doubt in factual guilt, despite a full confession from Misskelley. On 8/19/2011, after years of constant media attention and instead of taking the matter to a retrial, the three were allowed to enter Alford pleas, which basically is a way of saying, "I'm innocent, but you have enough evidence to convict me." All three have since been released from prison. Many still believe the three men are guilty of the murders while others swear to their innocence. Regardless what you believe, there is no question this is one that has captivated an audience.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The artwork was done on art paper, the media used looks like color pencil, and it is unsigned. The piece is cut along the bottom, at an angle, so the left side measures 11" and the right side measures 10.75", with the piece being 8.25" across. This piece was originally obtained through Echol's wife, Lori, after she failed to pay for a storage unit and the items went up for auction. Yes, this is one of those pieces from the lot of items that went into circulation. A xerox copy of an inmate property release slip will accompany this artwork. The artwork comes inside a protective magazine sleeve with an acid free board and has been stored flat. Message me with any questions you might have. Thanks for having a look-see.
