Aileen Wuornos card/envelope 12/11/1996 EXECUTED

This auction is for a card from executed Florida serial killer Aileen Carol Wuornos (2/29/1956 – 10/9/2002). Wuornos was a female serial killer who killed seven men from 1989 to 1990. She claimed during several trials that the killings were in self-defense, that her victims were would-be attackers and she the victim. Unfortunately for Wuornos, none of the members of any of her juries believed that story and she was sentenced to death on multiple counts. Her case was largely celebrated in the press and continues to be the focus of media coverage. Wuornos was executed 10/9/2002. Her last words were, "Yes, I would just like to say I'm sailing with the rock, and I'll be back, like Independence Day with Jesus. June 6, like the movie. Big mother ship and all, I'll be back, I'll be back." She was 46.

ITEM DESCRIPTION: The Christmas card is dated 12/11/1996 and signed, "Aileen C. Wuornos." You don't usually see the middle initial in Wuornos's signatures. She has also drawn a little happy face in the card. It does look like someone wrote a few notes on the back of the envelope... it wasn't me, I promise! It appears to be in pencil, probably easy enough to erase. The original mailing envelope is postmarked 12/13/1996, with a handsome cursive signature on the envelope. The card and envelope come inside a protective magazine sleeve with an acid free board and have been stored flat. Message me with any questions you might have. Thanks for having a look-see.
