This auction is for a Christmas card from New York serial killer Mr. Waldo Grant. From 1973 to 1976 Grant killed four men. Three of the four he brought back to and murdered in his Upper West Side apartment in Manhattan. The first murder was a wee creative. After beating and stabbing his victim to death, he threw him off the top of his apartment building to make it look like a suicide. The fourth victim, a 16-year-old boy, was found cut into three pieces. After being arrested he confessed to all four murders, describing an "uncontrollable urge" to kill in each man. He was sentenced to life imprisonment.
ITEM DESCRIPTION: The Christmas card is completely filled out, measures 5"×7" when closed, and signed, "Waldo." The original mailing envelope is postmarked 12/9/1996 with six lines of address written in Grant's hand. There is a red Eastern, N.Y. Correctional with star stamped on the front of the envelope.
